How has the CEM designation helped in your career?

The CEM designation has provided me additional tools and insights to manage our events safely, efficiently while providing an engaging environment for our attendees and exhibitors.

Why is it important to maintain the CEM designation?

It’s important to maintain the CEM designation, but more important to continually stay engaged and up to date on what is happening in our ever changing event planning industry. The CEM program provides the tracks and educational opportunities for us to stay on task.

What made you want to obtain your CEM designation?

To continue to improve our processes and policies for our team and our partners.  It’s important to listen and learn from tenured industry professionals.

What advice would you give to an aspiring individual who wants to apply for the CEM program?

That it is a must, for anyone no matter what your expertise is in, if you are in the event planning industry this series of tracks will enhance your knowledge and provide insight on all the moving parts.

How did you start your career in this industry?

I am actually in the hardware distribution industry but we manage and produce our own events along side our general contractor.

How have you made a difference with your show or with working with a client by applying the knowledge you gained by obtaining your CEM designation?

The biggest difference would be applying some of the pre planning and needs assessments that multiple instructors taught on.  Increased our efficiencies and reduced our margins of error.

What was it that you did or implemented right after obtaining your CEM?

Haven’t had the opportunity yet, it just happened a few hours ago.

What did you like most about the CEM Learning Program?

I really enjoyed meeting people from all over the event industry and their insights and experiences.  It The bible, the reference manual of all of our content.

Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I am a roller skating fiend.
