University of Education: DePaul University
How long have you been an IAEE member? 2 years
IAEE Chapter: Midwestern Chapter

How did you start your career in this industry?

My background is in the restaurant industry. I have a culinary degree and loved the organized chaos of it all. I went back to school for a BS in Hospitality from DePaul and through one of my internships I was recommended to my current manager at Lions Clubs International. My F&B background helped me dive into meetings and events.

How has IAEE shaped your career?

IAEE offers education and networking opportunities that have helped me grow in my role as a planner. I am two classes away from my CEM! The CEM is a fantastic certification program and I have been able to apply what I have learned to my own meetings. It is wonderful to be a part of a network of people who care as deeply for the industry as I do.

What advice would you give to a new member?

Reach out to your local chapter and participate on a committee! Meet the other members. There is so much to learn from each other.

Fun fact about you – What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I am a twin! I have a twin brother who is two minutes younger than I am.

What do you like most about your chapter?

My chapter is active and passionate. The energy is contagious!

What would you say is the #1 IAEE member benefit?

Access to the CEIR research. The tools and research available during the pandemic have helped me navigate a path to safer in-person meetings.
